“红绿灯” 怎么用AEIS英语表达?
其实红绿灯的官方名字是“交通信号灯” ，所以它的正确表达应该是 "traffic signal lights"，口语中一般叫做 "traffic lights"。
"Don't start moving until the traffic lights change to green."
在交通灯变绿之前不要动。
green light
"green light" 除了可以表达红绿灯中的“绿灯”，它还有 “准许;允许 ”的意思 。一般用法是 "give sb/sth the green light"(给某人/某事许可) 或 "get the green light"(得到许可) 。
同理可得，红灯 "red light" 有 “停止”的意思，它还能用来表示“红灯区” 。
但是，“黄灯”就比较特殊了，因为它的直译 "yellow light " 并不是黄灯，而是“警告”的意思。黄灯的正确说法是 "amber light"，amber 是“琥珀”的意思，因黄灯亮起像琥珀而得其名。

"get off light" 一般指的是情况“没有预期中的那么糟糕”。
