No matter how carefully we examine a text, it seems there's always one more little blunder waiting to be discovered.But these 10 tips should help you see (or hear) your errors before anybody else does.
不论检查文章是有多仔细，总是还有其他未检查出的错误。这十条小技巧可以在别人发现之前帮助你发现错误。
1.Give it a rest.适当休息
If time allows, set your text aside for a few hours (or days) after you've finished composing, and then proofread it with fresh eyes. Rather than remember the perfect paper you meant to write, you're more likely to see what you've actually written.
如果时间允许，在你完成作品之后将其放置一段时间(几个小时或者几天)，之后再对其进行校对。这时你更能实际地看自己写的作品而不是沉浸在对自己作品的满意之处。
2.Look for one type of problem at a time.每次只检查一种类型的错误
Read through your text several times, concentrating first on sentence structures, then word choice, then spelling, and finally punctuation. As the saying goes, if you look for trouble, you're likely to find it.
通读你的作品几次，首先关注句子结构，之后时词语选择，接着检查拼写错误，最后检查标点符号的使用。就像谚语所说，只要你查找错误，就很可能找到。
3.Double-check facts, figures, and proper names.着重检查事实，数据和名称
In addition to reviewing for correct spelling and usage, make sure that all the information in your text is accurate.

4.Review a hard copy.检查打印稿
Print out your text and review it line by line: rereading your work in a different format may help you catch errors that you previously missed.

5.Read your text aloud.大声地读出你的文章
Or better yet, ask a friend or colleague to read it aloud. You may hear a problem that you haven't been able to see.

6.Use a spellchecker.使用拼写检查器
The spellchecker can help you catch repeated words, reversed letters, and many other common errors.

7.Trust your dictionary. 依靠你的字典
Your spellchecker can tell you only if a word is a word, not if it's the right word. For instance, if you're not sure whether sand is in a desert or a dessert, visit the dictionary.
拼写检查器可以告诉你一个词是不是拼写正确，但不能判断是否使用了正确的词。比如，你确定不了沙子是在desert(沙漠)还是dessert(甜点)中，查阅词典吧。
8.Read your text backward.倒序阅读文章
Another way to catch spelling errors is to read backward, from right to left, starting with the last word in your text. Doing this will help you focus on individual words rather than sentences.
另外一种检查拼写的方法是倒序阅读，从右到左，从文章最后一个单词开始。这样做可以使你的注意力转移到每个单词上而不是句子。
9.Create your own proofreading checklist.制作自己的校对检查清单 Keep a list of the types of mistakes you commonly make, and then refer to that list each time you proofread.
制作一个列表标记常出现的错误，并且每次校对的时候参考这个清单。
10.Ask for help.寻求帮助
Invite someone else to proofread your text after you have reviewed it. A new set of eyes may immediately spot errors that you've overlooked.
